A library is established to assist study to help an Oratorian to become more deeply acquainted with the history of the church, theology, liturgy, scripture, art and architecture.
An essential part of any Oratory, as a community rooted in prayer, is its church. But there are other aspects to an Oratorian’s life. His home contains all he needs to assist him in carrying out his duties. One of those duties is study.
A library is established to assist study to help an Oratorian to become more deeply acquainted with the history of the church, theology, liturgy, scripture, art and architecture.
“A library is a kind of universe in which so much of the church’s experience is encapsulated – each book helps a priest who is consulting it to ponder anew all that he has to hand over to others.”
